I recently did a tour for what you would call VFIP’s (Very F… Important People) and as I started to tell our story, the big guy interrupted and said – “so you are a wholesaler?” I guess most people would been thrown off their game here, not me. I was in my early 20s straight of college when I took a job in a tech company, and I was thrown into the lion’s den. I worked in the top executive floor as an assistant to the C-suite (think Devil wears Prada), so for me getting interrupted to get straight to the answer is my jam. Ok – he has unanswered questions in his head and before I start telling the why, he wants to know the what.
What is Yoli?
We take our name seriously as explorers of food, always seeking the highest quality in everything we do. We want you to enjoy our products and share its cultural reference. Our what takes several shapes and forms for you to ultimately enjoy high quality Mexican cuisine.
Are we a wholesaler? Yes. Are we a retail business? Yes. Are we a taqueria at a stadium? Yes. Are we a bakery? Yes. Are we cooking class teachers? Yes.… yes, yes and yes.
In the coming year you will see us in different formats, because they are all part of our self-expression and deep desire to share our passion for Mexican cuisine. This fall, we have entered our biggest growth on the retail wholesale side with Whole Foods. We have gone from 4 to 30+ stores in the Midwest and Rocky Mountain Region. In Kansas City, you can now find us in most of all your grocery stores from Hen Houses to Price Choppers.
Growth doesn’t happen overnight; we been knocking on doors for the last 7 years.
Growth is not linear, even though there sometimes we all wish it was.
Growth is a chameleon; it is constant change and edits.
Growth is sometimes painful, new challenges arise.
Growth is magical when you take a moment to reflect where you started from…
We thank you always for being part of Yoli, we still have much more growing to do with BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) …for now, thank you for growing with us.
